Moscow Travel

What makes a city interesting to travel to? Is it the traces of history left behind on its walls? Is it the architecture itself? Or, is it just the energizing feeling that 13 million people traversing its streets create? Whatever you look for in an urban travel experience, you can find in Moscow.

The both literal and symbolic heart of Moscow is undoubtedly Red Square. Here, both the Kremlin and St. Basil’s Cathedral tower overhead. The construction of the latter will inspire with its uniqueness, an interpretation of wooden Russian buildings in stone. Laid to rest in Red Square were both Lenin and Stalin. Without being helped by a local guide on a tour, you may miss some of the amazing stories that took place here. There is no cheaper option than a free walking tour. However, the reality is Moscow’s beauty can be seen by foot, bus, or boat ride on the Moskva River, all of which our tour agency can arrange.

Best City Excursions

There are few places in the world more steeped in history and culture than the Bolshoi Theater. Famous composers Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, and Shostakovich have all premiered on its stage. Visitors taking a Moscow vacation can enjoy the columned façade from the outside (especially beautiful at night), or the opulent auditorium within. Art and culture lovers in need of more can sample a variety of museums including, The State Tretyakov Museum and The Museum of Russian Impressionism.

Most of the major tourist locations in Moscow are in the center. But, if venturing to outlying areas, managing long distances in the city is convenient. Moscow has one of the largest Metro subway systems in the world and by far the most beautiful. Novoslobodskaya metro station features 32 ornate stained-glass panels and Ploshchad Revolyutsii (Revolution Square) is adorned by 76 bronze statues of all sorts of workers executed in an unmistakably Soviet style.
